| Summary: The brothers intercept the military convoy which is escorting the Ishbal refugees to their new camp. Ed hopes this will save them the trouble of heading all the way south themselves. They take Rick and Leo with them to show them to the old man who may have information on Scar?s whereabouts. Arriving at Kisshua, the suspected location of the old man they were going for, Ed and Al enter the man?s shack and are confronted with the symbol tattooed on Scar?s arm. The brothers are then immediately confronted by the military unit controlling the area. Fortunately for them it is Hawkeye and Breda in charge.
They are granted a visit with the old man for whom they are searching, and he reveals some Ishbal history that surprises the brothers. The Great Skill is a tradition passed down through Ishbal history, but it was one day sealed and made taboo. This Skill was alchemy, and the Ishbal people have long standing methods, including the forbidden method of transmuting the Philosopher?s Stone. He recounts his encounter with Scar, where he dedicated himself to creating the Philosopher?s Stone.
Winry learns from the Ishbal children that her parents were slain by a State Alchemist, allegedly one who can manipulate fire. She is obviously shaken by this, knowing that Mustang is to blame, and runs off, to be caught by the guards on duty. Meanwhile, Ed and Al are discussing the possibility of Homunculus involvement in the Ishbal situation with Hawkeye. Winry decides to go to Central City with Hawkeye, while Ed and Al continue south searching for Scar. Rick and Leo head to the south camp to meet up with the rest of their people. Finally, flash to Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, and Sloth meeting in a small ill lit room. Lust and Gluttony are ordered to follow the Elric brothers, and Gluttony is thrilled to hear that he might get to eat. |
